Miles ate French toast and half of dried plums for breakfast. For lunch he ate pulled pork, bites of whole wheat dinner roll, ate most of his peas/carrots, and ate strawberries.

I love stories about young children who are only capable of "concrete thinking." In our English language we use LOTS of phrases that I would call a "play on words." The phrase or word means something different than the original meaning. One obvious example; "raining cats and dogs." (That example is probably an old school phrase!!) Here's an example of concrete thinking, but with a twist. We were watching a man pedal a bicycle with no hands. I said, "Look Ma! No hands." (Old school again.) Cal was very serious when he pointed at my hands and said, "You DO have hands. Right there." I love that.

This first picture is also from yesterday afternoon watching the neighbor girl walking their dog. Following picture: Here's how the boys were playing hide-n-seek this morning. Cal peeking around the corner of the couch. At least Cal's is sort of hidden; Miles is laying on the floor face-down!! Haha. Did you see Miles on the left side of the picture!?

Next picture: Here's another picture of them with their water after Svea fetched it for them. It always goes like this; Cal will ask for water and Svea will announce that "Miles wants water too." Haha. I love how she's keeping an eye on them even when she's drinking and she knows the rules. For example; if they stand up then their drinking turn is over. Second picture: Miles was chewing on the food toys - carrot this time - and I reminded him to "pretend" and that's what he's doing in the picture. Showing me that he is pretending and making some little smacking sounds. :) Last picture; "Mailman, mailman, mailman, mailman...." He always alerts us to the presence of the "Mailman!!"
