Miles - 01/28/2022

Miles ate half of brown rice and ate his raisins for breakfast. For lunch he ate a large serving of salmon, ate whole wheat dinner roll, riced sweet potato/cauliflower, and three servings of peaches. At lunch Miles was dinking around and I told him he was goofy. I frequently say to one of the kids, "You're a goofy sucker." Well at Lunch Miles finished my sentence for me. I said, "You're goofy." Miles said, "Sucker." Haha. You're welcome.

Yesterday after Snack Lauralea had come out to the kitchen and was then headed back to her office "to work." Miles thought he needed to go with her; "Me work, Me work, Me work!!" Haha. Hmmm...no.

This first picture is basically the first thing the boys did after waving bye to Momma Emily at the window. (Just an FYI, the Blog pictures are generally in chronological order.) And the kids frequently go right to the thing they like the best or at least in their top five!! :) Cal and his Tinker Toys; making various weapons and lots of sound effects! Miles was thinking about sorting the colored bears, but look where his focus is actually directed! Ha. Moments after I took the picture he was doing puzzles.

Next picture: Fun with the tape measures. I asked, "How tall is Miles?" So Cal measured him and said, "51 Inches." Haha. I guess we'll work on the concept of "width and height" at a later date! Ha! Following picture: Back at the Doll House. Cal was busy piling all the accessories in front of Miles while Miles was chanting; "More, More, More, More!!" :) Lauralea came by and stated the obvious, "Boys play with things different than the girls do." LOL. I know I've told you all this before, but I like repeating stuff like this: (Haha!) Probably 20 years ago there was an 18 month period when Lauralea and I had 11 boys and 1 girl in our Group Home Program. Yup, we can - paint with a wide brush - and say with certainty; "Boys play with things different than girls do."

More pictures: Doing some Dot Painting at Art Time and then coloring some coffee filters so we could spray water on them. I showed them how to push down on the markers and make big dots and then it's fun to watch the colors spread when the water hits the dots. I like how both boys are "double-fisting" their markers and pushing down hard. Last picture: The boys were singing "Ring Around The Rosy" and doing their version of the exercise. The favorite part? "We all fall down!" Of course. :)

Miles ate waffle and three large servings of grapes - LOVE those Candy Snaps - for breakfast. For lunch he ate bite of his chicken, bites of whole wheat tortillas, bites of corn, and ate apple pieces.  Miles was pretty clingy to Daddy this morning and after Ryan left I told Miles; "Good job not crying." Miles said, "At Grandma Pam's?" Haha. Sure, at Grandma Pam's. Then he was telling me something about "puking" and I basically never figured it out except for this; "I got watermelon puke." Haha. Ok, whatever. First picture: Well did you notice Miles in this picture? Haha. He's laying on the couch, but I wanted to show you what he frequently does after arrival when he's a bit "bent out of shape." He wasn't crying or super upset, he just didn't like the transition. Miles ate whole wheat toast and three large servings of candy grapes. For lunch he ate bites of pork roast, bites of whole wheat tortillas, ate half of his carrots, and three large servings of fruit salad. Random notes:  Miles asked, "Did the thunder come to your house?" Yup. "Was it loud?" Yup. "Why?" Haha. I was snuggling Nora on the couch and Miles was listening to what I said to Nora. "Nora, You've always been my girl! You're so very sweet." Miles said, "I miss my Mom." LOL!! That hit my funny bone and I laughed so hard. Miles started laughing when he saw my reaction. So cute and sweet. I love how kids frequently arrange their words! On our way to Cold Springs Playground Nora started taking about Big Willy again as we passed his house. "I can't believe he died." Miles - 01/26/2022

Miles ate three large servings of French toast covered with three large servings of strawberries for breakfast. For lunch he ate pork roast, saltines, half of his carrots, and ate his fruit salad. Right after breakfast Miles said, "Outside? Outside? Outside?" Cal said, "Well it's too foggy." Haha. "We'll go outside after Snack today Miles just like we did yesterday." So here is a picture from yesterday afternoon. The snow is pretty frozen underneath the new couple of inches we got. It makes for hard walking across the snow, but it was pretty entertaining to watch!! Especially when the boys also tried to push dump trucks across it as well. Miles gave up on that and just laid down on the path to the garage. :) Next picture: This picture from this morning reminds me of yesterday afternoon when the boys awoke from their naps and wanted to do some puzzles.
