Miles - 11/30/2021

Miles ate two servings of whole wheat English muffin and ate dried plums for breakfast. For lunch he ate bites of chicken, bites of brown rice, ate half of his broccoli, and ate mandarin oranges. This first picture is shortly after Miles had arrived. It's early in the day and they were both doing the "my my my" thing. Cal said, "I wanna snuggle." Miles, "Me snuggle, me snuggle." :) No problem. And then they were giggling and we were having fun. Cal retrieved my phone so I could do a selfie of them. Goofiness and Cuteness.  Next picture: Svea LOVES to do things like this for the other kids!! As soon as they asked for paper - Miles was asking to "color" when he was still in the breakfast highchair - Svea makes sure I know she will handle it!! AND she always does this sort of thing with some "flair!!" (stylishness and originality)  :) Lauralea said Svea would make a good "Vanna White." Haha. I agree. (Check out her left arm.)...

Miles ate Cheerios and ate his banana serving for breakfast. For lunch he ate ground beef covered with avocado, ate whole wheat pita bread, olives, and three servings of strawberries. At Lunch - while putting olives on all her fingers - Svea said, "Remember when we used to put olives on our fingers?" Uhhh, yes like two weeks ago - the last time we had olives!!?!! :)  Svea frequently phrases her sentences in unique ways - all children do, but her's are just so cute!! She said Cal wasn't being nice to Miles and she phrased it like this, "He wasn't being nice to Miles. And we need to be friendship! That's what we do." Love it. Yes that's what we do!! So in this first picture Alexa was playing, "We wish you a Merry Christmas!!" (Cheers! It's never too early!!) Svea got all excited and said, "I'm going to fix a dinner and you guys sing!!" :) Next picture: Miles was doing some free-draw and Svea was pulling the caps off the ...

Miles was here for lunch and he ate bites of ground beef, ate his whole wheat elbow noodles, bites of peas/carrots, and ate his applesauce. It was pretty cute when Miles saw Avi here; "Hi Avi, Hi Avi, Hi Avi." He greeted her several times this morning. She was just as thrilled to see him too. She was doing Art in the Preschool room when she spotted Ryan carrying him in. "MILES IS HERE!!" :) First picture; As soon as Atley had built her "cave" Miles and Svea moved in. Ha. "Sure nice of you people to build us this Fort!!" You can in the second picture we used a big blanket for the roof and every time the roof "caved in" they laid the blame at the feet of Miles!! Poor kid! When you're the youngest you get blamed for everything!! Haha. Next picture: Miles doing what Miles loves to do!! He asks to "color" every day and from my perspective I think he loves it!! And he frequently surprises me with what he can do. Last picture: Ch...

Miles ate most of his waffle serving and three large servings of grapes. For lunch he ate chicken, no whole wheat tortilla, ate corn, and ate his apple slices. This first picture: This is what the boys did as soon as Miles arrived; ran in circles. Like puppies, happy to play and chasing each other. Second picture: Well we did a toy, book, and puzzle exchange so the "beep beep" school buses went bye bye and bring on the tractors. I was waiting for this moment and it didn't take long!! Ha. In the picture Cal was saying, "Now don't get my tractor!!" :) Next two pictures: Miles was asking to "color" and it took me several minutes to figure it out. He doesn't seem to get impatient about things like that; he just keeps repeating, repeating, repeating, and repeating!! Haha. It sounded like he was saying, "canor canor canor?" I figured it out by watching his eyes and see what direction he kept looking. :) Last picture: Cal will get tired of S...

Miles ate bites of oatmeal and bites of apple slices for breakfast. For lunch he ate hamburger stew with meat, carrots, green beans, tomatoes, and potatoes. He had no whole wheat dinner roll, and ate his fruit cocktail. When Svea arrives Miles frequently (again this morning) says; "Va Va home; Va Va home." It's so cute and it always makes me laugh. "Yup, she just got home Buddy." First picture: Svea had the food toys all laid out nicely and when she left the room Miles quickly moved in to where she'd been playing. Miles likes to shuffle toys back and forth from one container to another container. I read that one benefit from an activity like this is "increased focus and increased attention span." I'm saying those would be some of his strengths!! When he's interested in something there is no problem with attention span. Second picture: Then Miles moved on to the legos table. I love that he has been spending more and more time at the legos ta...

Callahan ate oatmeal and apple slices for breakfast. For lunch he ate hamburger stew with meat, carrots, green beans, tomatoes, and potatoes. He had bites of whole wheat dinner roll, and ate fruit cocktail.  Here are some pictures of Cal doing various Preschool Room activities this morning. First picture; He has the 6 different colored cups surrounding himself and he's starting to sort the colored bears. I took the second picture when he was working to collect all the paper clips with the magnet on the end of the string. In the third picture Svea and Cal were playing the Avalanche Game. The board is on a slant and they try to get as many pieces of fruit on there before it collapses. There are several rules to the game, but at this point we skipped all the rules. Ha. Next picture: Svea worked hard at building this wall and like I've mentioned several times we have a rule "If you build it, then you can destroy it." And the boys were doing pretty well with that and inten...

Miles ate French toast and two servings of dried plums for breakfast. For lunch he ate bites of pulled pork, no whole wheat toast, ate peas/carrots, and ate strawberries. I've been expecting this to happen and it came out yesterday; thanks to Miles!! Haha. The boys were arguing over Svea!! Miles said, "My Va Va, my Va Va." And of course Cal started repeating it too!! :) This first picture is left over from yesterday afternoon. It was starting to get dark so I turned out the lights for the boys and their flashlights. They loved being able to see the light beam so much better. Following picture; Cal was trying to give Miles some pointers on solving the puzzle. Cal was saying, "Turn it around, turn it around." Which is what he hears me (and Svea) saying to him. Miles managed to get 3 pieces by himself which I think is a good start. Next picture: The boys are patiently waiting for Svea to gather up some food and laying it out for them. ha. Finally Svea said, "O...

Miles ate half of his whole wheat toast and ate mangoes for breakfast. For lunch he ate a large serving of ground beef with marinara sauce on top of a large serving of whole wheat spaghetti noodles, ate cauliflower, and ate fruit salad.  I know I talk a lot about the kids pushing each other's buttons and especially at the window waving bye to the Parents. This morning was a classic for Cal and Miles. So I took the picture below while the boys were waiting at the window for Momma Emily to come around the corner. (They would miss waving SO MANY TIMES if I didn't watch and re-direct their attention!!) Cal sprinted to the window and on the way there was already saying, "My Mom, My Mom, My Mom." And of course Miles was vehemently opposed to that statement and knew it was a blatant lie!! Haha. Then Cal said, "My Dad already come." (Which was not a lie! Ha.) Miles had no clue what that meant and started yelling, "My Dad, My Dad, My Dad!!" Haha!! Same song...

Miles ate blueberry bagel and three servings of grapes for breakfast. For lunch he ate shrimp, brown rice smothered in berry juice, ate most of his broccoli, and ate mixed berries.  Miles joined Svea at the window to wave bye to Momma Molly and he kept saying, "My Mom, my Mom, my Mom." He was doing that just to get a reaction from Svea and boy was it ever working!! Haha! The little Turkey. She was about ready to wring his neck. She never did wave at Mommy because she was too busy reacting to him. Outside pictures with Svea from yesterday. The kids stepped on two of those large "stink bugs" so if you smelled something yucky on the way home that might have been it. :) Second picture: You have to look close to see Svea's face with the hair hanging down!! Ha. Third picture: Miles was behind Svea in the airplane saying, "Home home home." Svea finally said, "We  ARE  going home!!" :)  Next picture: This picture was taken just moments - probably one...

Miles ate bran cereal and raisins for breakfast. For lunch he ate chicken topped with avocado, bites of whole wheat pita bread, ate cucumbers, and pears. I took these first two pictures before breakfast this morning. Miles asked if he could color and Svea wanted to help and she got him all set up with the paper and markers. (See the two markers in Svea's hand which she'd chose for herself; he started yelling for those of course!! Mondays will always be Mondays!!) Second picture: I was shocked how perfect he made this circle. Dang that's good. He didn't replicate it, but Lauralea said, "Maybe he is a genius." Haha.  Next picture; Miles and the school buses. You better enjoy your monopoly of the bus fleet today Miles because Cal will be back from Denver tomorrow. Yikes! Haha. It's just hard to have 4 buses and only 2 hands!! Maybe Cal will be focused on playing with Svea; at least we can hope for that Miles!! Following picture: Svea is as obsessed with the f...
