Miles ate oatmeal and baked cinnamon apples for breakfast. For lunch he ate hamburger stew with meat, tomatoes, green beans, carrots, potatoes, and broth. He ate whole wheat dinner roll, and ate fruit cocktail. He ate everything and had a great lunch. Miles had a bit of a rough start to the morning by crashing on the sidewalk on the way into Daycare. He recovered pretty quickly and moved on to other slightly less dangerous activities. Ha. He managed to keep from crashing again even though he likes to get up on the railing and look out this window like you see in the picture. If he falls to the left at least he'll land on the mattress!! So he's got a 50/50 chance for a good outcome if he does fall off. :) Assuming he goes right or left. Well it seemed kinda quiet around here this morning. The Nelson girls went with their Grandparents to the lake and it always changes the dynamics of the group when anyone is gone! Cal and Miles were both playing with the same staplers in the pict...

Miles ate two servings of French Toast and ate strawberries for breakfast. For lunch he ate pulled pork, ate whole wheat toast, half of peas, and ate strawberries.   Here is a picture of typical 2 year old behavior! Initially one of them - this time it was Miles - was screaming because Cal was trying to take his toys. I see that as a "teaching moment" and my response: "Cal, find another toy no one is playing with." I barely get that out of my mouth and Miles is handing the disputed toy to Cal!! I wish I knew how many times in the past 25 years I've seen that EXACT same scenario played out!! Goofy kids. (Teaching moment wasted!) Why were you screaming if you were just gonna hand it off!!  LOL! More pictures from this morning. Cal and Miles each had about the same amount of toys/cars and were playing in close proximity to each other. Miles had his on the couch and Cal was on the floor beside the couch. Following picture - playing with the food toys and putting mu...

Miles ate whole wheat toast and ate two servings of mangoes for breakfast. For lunch he ate a large serving of ground beef with marinara sauce on top of whole wheat spaghetti noodles, ate cauliflower and ate fruit salad.   Have you seen this first picture before?!? Ha. So if you see the same picture over and over you can probably assume that's a favorite activity of the kids. The boys are standing up there together and  not  yelling at each other which is a step in the right direction. Miles gets a little nervous when Cal joins him and wants some room. Second picture: Cal had asked me to read books and while I was reading books to him Miles was bringing load after load of toys and dumping them on Cal's lap. Ha. That's actually a fairly deep piles of toys there!! Svea has been spending more and more time in the Preschool Room and then about 10:00 she went and ran off some energy in the Daycare Room with the boys and they were all loving that as well. In this next picture A...

Miles ate blueberry bagel and three servings of grapes for breakfast. For lunch he ate shrimp, brown rice in berry juice, ate broccoli, and ate marion black berries. I didn't post this in Nora's Blog so I'll post it here. Atley made an announcement at the breakfast table: "When I grow up I'm gonna give all my toys to you guys." LOL. Geez that made me laugh. Everyone seemed to be quite pleased with the announcement. Avi said, "She's gonna give me her toys when she grows up." Ha. Typical kid; she assumed she would be receiving  ALL  the toys herself. Ha.  First picture: Miles has doubled up on his tools this morning; a drill in each hand. Get that boy two holsters! (Sorry, I'm just amusing myself.) He's intently watching Atley and Nora play on the floor of the Daycare Room with "his" toys. Ha.  Next picture: Miles has perfected using the drills and is now working with the staplers. They make a pretty cool sound when you engaged th...

Miles ate bran cereal and raisins for breakfast. For lunch he ate two servings of chicken with avocado, ate toasted whole wheat pita bread, cucumbers, and ate pears.   First picture - This one is left over from outside time last Friday afternoon. I always think it's so funny and cute when the smallest/youngest is the designated worker. Miles was pulling the wagon across the lawn and as soon as Svea and Cal noticed they sprinted for the wagon. "Pull Miles, Pull!!" Haha. Not successful; maybe on sidewalk, but not on the grass. Next picture; We did a toy, book, and puzzle exchange this weekend. As soon as Miles grabbed a "drill" he headed to the other side of the changing table; totally remembering the last time this toy set was out! We switched the room around and turned the table around Miles!! So I showed him the holes he likes to "drill' into. Following picture: When you're not sure what to drill next, you can always drill on your teeth. Maybe a de...

Miles ate a large serving of whole grain cream of wheat cereal and ate dried plums for breakfast. For lunch he ate chicken, one bite of brown rice, ate broccoli, and ate pineapple. Because of Avi frequently mentioning her love of "cream of wheat" now Atley and Nora are chanting the same thing and eating more than one serving. And so did Callahan. :) I made a total of 8 servings for breakfast and they ate it all.  First picture: I took this shortly after waving bye to Momma and he'd come to the couch and sat beside me. I had several to choose from, but this is the cutest. :) And it kind of reflected his mood at the moment. Emily and I were talking about Miles when he "pitches a fit" - the intensity and the length. So far he's been pretty easy to deal with. The most upset I've seen him was when Momma picked up Nora and he was left behind. (That was actually more sad than mad.) Next picture: Miles was excited to see the birds feeding in the yard this mornin...

Miles ate waffle and two servings of fruit salad for breakfast. For lunch he ate ground turkey, whole wheat tortillas, most of sweet potatoes, and ate cherries.   First picture; Callahan and I had been snuggling when Miles arrived and so Miles snuggled momentarily, but he was too jacked-up to lay still. Ha. I was trying to get a selfie of him and he kept sitting up and I kept pushing his head back to my chest. He was giggling like crazy. You can see Cal looking at the camera keeping track of our progress! Haha. Or lack of progress! Next picture: These boys played with these two toys - shot dispenser from medical toys and a carrot - for the LONGEST time! And they kept going back to it! They were trying to insert them into the empty screw holes in the door of the changing table. As you can see in the picture even though Miles didn't have either toy he was totally enthralled with the process. :) Last two pictures: Lauralea was outside the window in the rain (light drizzle) holding a p...

Miles ate two servings of French toast and three servings of oranges for breakfast. For lunch he ate Whole 30 Chili with meat, peppers, tomatoes, sweet potatoes, tomato sauce, and lots of good spices. He ate whole wheat dinner roll and tropical fruit.   These first two pictures go together and it was pretty entertaining and stinking cute!! Callahan had a plan in mind and was trying to lead Miles into his plan. Cal was SO proud when he managed to lead Miles off the mattress! Ha. Then Cal got on his hands and knees and kept saying, "Get on my back. Get on my back. Get on my back." Miles started patting Cal's back. Hahaha. Cal finally gave up and yelled to Nora in the Preschool Room; "Nora! Will you get on my back!?!" Nora, "No, I'm too heavy." :) Next picture: Miles went to the window first and stayed there for a long time; left and soon went back. Then Cal joined him and he too stayed there for a long time. I finally took the hint and went and looke...

Miles ate whole wheat English muffin and three servings of grapes for breakfast. For lunch he ate pork roast, whole wheat toast, ate beets, and applesauce.   I haven't mentioned anything about changing the Daycare Room around and moving the Doll House and Preschool Reading area. Those changes really helped get everyone engaged while I was gone and made things a bit easier for Lauralea. Today Svea stated it perfectly, "Hey Gary, Why are all these things moving some where else?!?" Haha. Then she proceeded to list EVERYTHING that we moved in the Daycare Room. Haha. First picture: Here are the boys doing what they LOVE to do; playing with the chair. Callahan had it going fairly fast and Miles was trotting hard to keep up. He had his arm wrapped around the arm of the chair and that was somewhat of a help. Ha. Shortly after this picture he climbed up and enjoyed the ride. Ha. Miles is pretty focused if you look at the picture closely.  Next picture - the boys were squealing, ru...

Why is this so late you ask? Well, I'm not sure what happened: I had Miles' Blog done, I thought it was posted, but it disappeared. Ha. Absolutely positively operator error. Haha. Stinking computers. So here we go again. Miles ate corn chex cereal and two servings of peaches for breakfast. For lunch he ate everything as well: Ground beef topped with avocado, toasted whole wheat sandwich thin, tomatoes, and mandarin oranges. I give pretty large servings (Lauralea's observation - Ha) and all my kids are good eaters.  Hey you get a different - but very similar - picture than everyone else!! We had a lot of fun at the Gulf on Friday and the water was so warm and nice. Gideon had a blast scooping sand, sitting in the water, and running like a wild man. This picture is left over from last week when the kids went to the park. Good job of climbing Miles!! And some pictures from outside this morning. We were doing bubbles, but Miles had no interest in that and chose to be at the fen...

Miles ate brown rice and raisins for breakfast. For lunch he ate salmon, whole wheat dinner roll, cauliflower, and ate mangoes.   So this is probably old news to you at home, but yesterday I heard Miles singing for the first time AND I could recognize the song by the tune. I love that. "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star." (Or "Baa Baa Black Sheep" Ha.) Not one recognizable word, but right on tune. Awesome. That's how it was with Atley for a LONG time; LOTS of tunes, but the words were jumbled! :) It's actually a good way to learn/practice language. First picture: Look where his legs are it; this is a frequent thing he does. He's funny! Second picture:  So the boys were studying a scar on my leg. Haha. Finally Cal asked me; "Why you have skin on!?!" Haha. Because it's better than having skin off. :) Next picture: Two boys on a chair messing with their noses! Haha. At least Cal is not picking his nose; just mashing it against his face. Miles wasn...

Miles ate French toast and ate strawberries for breakfast. For lunch he ate a large serving of Hearty Paleo Stew with meat, broccoli, cauliflower, sweet potatoes, green beans, carrots, and tomatoes. He had no saltines and ate tropical fruit. This first picture is left over from yesterday afternoon when Miles and Nora were the last ones here. She's on the other end of the teeter-totter and Miles was loving it. He butt was coming about 3 - 4 inches off the seat every time!! And of course he was chuckling and giggling! That's a happy face. :) Miles and Callahan played together basically ALL morning before Lunch. That's pretty typical for "Science with Lauralea" day; even though we did something a bit different today and the big kids did a "Project for Mother's Day" instead. In this first picture they were putting a "cookie" in each bowl and putting another bowl over the top. Presto! Now you got a "noise maker/ shaker!!" And they were...

Miles ate half of English muffin and ate mandarin oranges for breakfast. For lunch he ate ground beef, no whole wheat elbow noodles, bites of peas, and ate half of applesauce.     First picture from yesterday afternoon. Big Willy, our neighbor across the street, bought treats for the Daycare Kids. He flagged down the truck and had her back up to our gate. Ha. Thank you Willy! That was very sweet of you. He said, "Hey, it's the least I can do for my fans!" Ha. That's about the truth too. He loves it when they all pound on the window and wave when he's getting his mail! Here are several pictures from Miles' morning at Daycare! He sure likes this particular spot in the Daycare Room. I've seen that SO many times: kids have a spot and they go back to it over and over and over. Cal had his and now Miles has his spot. He was just being silly lifting up his shirt, patting his belly, and grinning at me.  Next picture: This is where Miles always goes and from this p...
