Miles ate brown rice and raisins for breakfast. For lunch he ate salmon, whole wheat dinner roll, cauliflower, and two servings of mangoes.  So before Lunch the kids were asking "what we gonna have?" I told them and then asked, "Does anyone know what is a salmon ?" Their answers were hilarious and all different. Svea: "From a horse." Ewww... ..no. Cal; "A vegetable." No. Miles; "A strawberry." Haha. Nope. So when I told them a "fish" they claimed to already know that of course. LOL. First picture from yesterday afternoon. This is a microscope that Svea brought and it's kind of fancy - beyond what Miles and Cal were capable of running. It has slides and it tells you about what you're looking at. And gives you quizzes, etc. Anyhow when I took this picture Miles was chuckling and I knew it wasn't even turned on. So I looked in it and it appeared like two eyes looking back at you. Haha. Next picture; Svea applying some...

Miles ate toasted cinnamon/raisin English muffin and two servings of mandarin oranges for breakfast. For lunch he ate ground beef, bites of whole wheat elbow noodles, ate peas, and applesauce. Miles asked what we were having for breakfast and I said, "English Muffin and Mandarin Oranges." Miles said, "And broccoli?" Haha. "No." I combed Miles' hair this morning and Cal said, "Now he looks like Nora." Wow, good observation Cal. I agree.  First picture: The boys being silly and acting like little boys. :) Love these two guys. Second picture: Miles was initially reading in this chair and Cal was reading in another chair. Miles closed his eyes and said, "Good night Cal." Cal said, "See you in the morning." :) Next picture: We had fun outside this morning. When I took this picture Cal was explaining the reason he wasn't available to go on a ride with the other two; Holding up the tennis ball he said, "I'm heading t...

Miles ate two large servings of French toast and Strawberries mixed together for breakfast. For lunch he ate most of his Hearty Paleo Stew with meat, green beans, tomatoes, carrots, broccoli, cauliflower, and peppers. He ate saltines, and ate mangoes. First picture: I took this shortly after the boys waved bye to Momma Emily. Both of them were in a great mood and they even wanted to work on the same puzzles!! This is good practice for Social Skills because ya know there's gonna be some conflict!! Ha. Actually they did 3 or 4 puzzles together and finished them all. Good work boys. Second picture: So they went from Puzzles to looking at Preschool books. Both of the boys were calling these "Bedtime Stories." They were reading separately, but Miles was making his book sound VERY interesting so Cal came to check it out. Next picture: This made me laugh! You can probably guess what Miles is saying!! Here it is: "I got you Svea!!" Haha. Whatever Miles, I think you may ...

Miles ate bites of waffle and ate two large servings of grapes for breakfast. For lunch he ate bites of chicken, no whole wheat tortilla, ate corn, and ate his apples slices. This first picture is left over from yesterday afternoon. Miles is getting a bit too big for the pink pajamas I've been putting him in, so these are his "new" PJ's. Only ONE problem; Cal used to wear these! And Miles remembered that. He wasn't very thrilled about the whole idea and it's getting warmer so I'll probably drop the Pajamas anyhow. When I took this picture Cal was explaining to Miles what Miles already knew! Haha. Cal to Miles: "Did you know these were mine when I was a kid?!?" Lol. Earlier, Cal had asked me; "Did you know those used to be my pajamas here?" Me: "Yes I knew that. Did YOU know I was the one who put those PJ's on you every day?" Cal; "Yes." Haha. Next picture: Svea brought Goldfish again for the kid's morning sn...

Miles ate kix cereal and fruit cocktail for breakfast. For lunch he ate a large serving of ground turkey topped with avocado, ate toasted whole wheat sandwich thin, tomatoes, and three servings of cherries. I asked Miles: "What did you do at home yesterday?" He said, "I play fire truck at my home." That's a very good sentence Miles and I like how specific it is too! Lauralea was leaving and Miles asked, "Are you going?" She said, "Yes I am leaving." Miles said, "But I hug you." Awww...that was so sweet and we loved it. Thank you Miles. First picture: The kids saw Micala drive up to the window and they're waiting behind the door for Micala, Nicole, and baby Paisley to come in. It was nice to see them and know they seem to be thriving; not just surviving. (They came to Missoula for a Baby check up.) Second picture: The kids were all excited to see the baby and I took this when they were telling the baby goodbye. Miles said, "...

Miles ate Cheerios and applesauce for breakfast. For lunch he ate ground beef, bites of whole wheat dinner roll, ate green beans, and fruit cocktail. During Lunch Svea was dinking around and making Miles laugh. I finally told her that was plenty and they needed to eat. Of course she did it again and Miles roared. THEN he tattled on her. That made me laugh; so then we're all laughing! :) Here's a picture left over from yesterday afternoon that I found highly amusing and adorable. Adorable because Avi loves Miles and shows him WAY more patience than she shows anyone else around here!! Ha. So she decided he needed to learn to play Tic-Tac-Toe. The amusing part was watching Miles spend way more time putting the circles (rings) on his fingers. Haha. Then he heard a helicopter - he yelled, "helicopter" - and sprinted for the window. Avi's reaction was so cute; She rolled her eyes and said, "Miles!!" But she was still smiling. Second picture: Svea was done wit...

Miles ate French toast and bites of dried plums for breakfast. In the middle of his breakfast Miles said, "I want mangoes." Haha. For lunch he ate pulled pork, ate whole wheat toast, peas, and two servings of strawberries. This first picture is left over from yesterday afternoon when the boys were searching for flies using the "bug-slapper." In this picture you can see Miles pointing and he was saying, "There's one! There's one!" It was well above the door. Cal said, "It's too high; we can't reach it." Then Cal added, "We can't fly." THEN after a couple more seconds Cal asked, "Gary, do have any wings for us!?!" LOL! Oh that made me laugh! Nope, sorry Cal, I'm fresh out. However, that was a great idea!! The FIRST thing Miles said to me when he walked in this morning; "Gary, Do you have any wings?" Haha.  Next picture: Svea hid some Easter eggs for Miles and in the picture she is watching him ...

Miles ate whole wheat toast and three servings of mangoes for breakfast. For lunch he ate a large serving of ground beef with marinara sauce on top of a large serving of whole wheat spaghetti noodles, ate riced cauliflower, and fruit salad.  We'd read/sang "Farmer in the Dell" during Story Time and right after Lunch the kids were interchanging words and subjects in the different verses and then laughing their heads off. I thought it was quite hilarious and entertaining as well!! Maybe one of Cal's verses was my favorite: "The Rat takes a Wife, the Rat takes a Wife, Hi-Ho the derry-O, the Rat takes a Wife." Haha. Good job kids. First picture: Both boys were in a great mood this morning and it was really cute. They are waiting at the window to wave bye at Grandpa Jerry. Cal told Miles; "You my Buddy." Then he was trying to tickle him; "Tickle, tickle, tickle." Next picture: The kids had a morning snack with the Goldfish that Svea brought wi...

Miles ate half of blueberry bagel and three LARGE servings of grapes for breakfast. For lunch he ate two servings of shrimp, a large serving of brown rice covered with mixed berry juice, ate most of his broccoli, and two large servings of mixed berries.  Before breakfast Miles asked me; "Gary, are we having grapes?" (It's a daily question!!) "Yes we are!" Miles said, "Yay!! You made grapes!" LOL! Yup, I whipped up a batch of grapes! Then Cal asked, "Gary, are we having crumbs?" Me: "What!?! Crumbs?!?" Cal: "Yes, are we having crumbs?" Me: "What kind of crumbs?" Cal; "Uhhh...yummy crumbs!" LOL. What a goof. Svea and Cal had some hilarious Lunch Time conversation and here's a piece that involved Miles. Svea asked, "Is California real!!" I couldn't completely lie so I said, "Well sort of real." Haha. (amusing myself) So then I asked; "Cal, have you ever been to Montana?...

Miles ate bran cereal and raisins for breakfast. For lunch he ate chicken topped with avocado, bites of whole wheat pita bread, ate cucumbers, and three servings of pears. We did a toy, book, and puzzle exchange this weekend and Miles was thrilled with all the different kinds of tractors. He played with legos tractors, regular tractors, barns and farm animals. Second picture: He insisted on bringing the tractor back through the barn even though it barely fit. But he eventually got it. Next picture: Miles thought he was being pretty funny wandering around with this bandana over his head. And it was funny. :) These bandanas are pretty thin so you can actually see through them quite well. Last two pictures with puzzles. Miles has tried the more difficult puzzles without much success, but he wanted to try one of them in this toy exchange this morning. He worked hard at it and had some great success. Good job Miles!! It's so different when you have to hook the pieces together too; rathe...

Miles ate a large serving of cream of wheat cereal and bites of dried plums for breakfast. For lunch he ate half of his chicken, half of his brown rice, and half of his broccoli. He ate a large serving of pineapple. This first picture is left over from yesterday afternoon. This was right after Miles got up from his nap and still wearing some Pajamas. (Daycare assigned in case anyone is wondering!! Ha.) This was a super cute moment when I took this picture. Svea was reading "scary ghost stories" (her words) to the boys. They were written, illustrated, and read by Svea Nelson. Miles had just requested another story and look at Svea's eye; "Are you sure you can handle another scary story!?!" :) One more picture from yesterday afternoon taken while the kids were decorating Easter egg Cookies. I decorated a cookie for Miles and suggested he could just eat his cookie! Ha. He was more than happy to comply with that suggestion! Next picture: The kids were using this as ...

Miles ate some of his waffle and ate mango/strawberries for breakfast. For lunch he ate ground turkey, bite of whole wheat tortilla, ate sweet potatoes, and two large servings of cherries. First picture: The boys were at the window waiting for Momma Emily to drive up. These crows were busy eating and didn't notice or care when the boys pounded on the window waving bye. Second picture: Miles watched me balance several items on the boat and then I passed it over for him to give it a go. He did well for a few minutes, but eventually lost interest when they kept falling off. At the beginning he put one item on and said, "I did it!" Haha. Yes you did, now try doing another one. I think Miles has done pretty well this week considering Daddy has been out of town. Maybe a little more quick to "tattle" on the other two kids - like all the time. Ha. I asked Miles this morning; Do you and Nora tattle on each other constantly? :)  Next picture: I frequently had him out doin...

Miles ate two large servings of French toast casserole mixed with strawberries for breakfast. For lunch he ate some Whole 30 Chili with meat, sweet potatoes, peppers, tomatoes, tomato sauce, and lots of spices. He ate whole wheat dinner roll and a large serving of mango/pineapple mix. Quick Note: During Story Time we finished a book and Miles said, "That's a cute book Gary." Haha. (I think I heard your Mommy speaking Miles.)  This first picture is left over from yesterday afternoon and just for fun I introduced Miles to this big puzzle. It will be awhile before he'll tackle this one, or maybe not! Sometimes they'll surprise you! As a matter of fact he was pretty sure he did this all by himself. "I did it! I did it!!" Haha. Caption for the next picture: " But we WERE playing Gentle !!" (Look at the innocent eyes. Ha. Not.) No you really weren't, so now you have to listen to Gary's little lecture. Haha. "we never hit; remember to pla...
