Miles ate blueberry bagel and three servings of peaches for breakfast. For lunch he ate ground beef, no whole wheat pizza crust, ate olives, and three servings of pineapple. One of the first things Miles said to me this morning when he arrived; "You said weirdo!" Huh, what? I'm guessing that was from yesterday and I most likely did. Sorry kids. :) He was very eager to say that to me. Haha. This first picture is left over from yesterday afternoon when Madison was here to pick up Callahan. She was pulling them around on the parachute. Then Cal was trying to pull Miles when I took this picture. Atley asked, "Would you like some help?" Cal said, "I would love some help!!" So cute. Next picture; Nora was doing some Art papers and the boys decided to join her. Following picture: Ok so this is kind of silly, BUT it's also my favorite picture today. Haha. Nora was making a Birthday card for Momma Emily and then told me "Mom is gonna be 35." Howev...

Miles ate whole wheat toast and three servings of cherries for breakfast. For lunch: No pulled pork, no whole wheat tortillas, ate sweet potatoes, and fruit cocktail.  I'm occasionally gonna include things that Nora says in Miles' Blog this summer too. This morning Nora informed me, "When I'm 6 I don't have to go the Doctor and do any check-outs. When I'm 7 I will have to get a check-out, but not when I'm 6." LOL. Isn't that cute! :) First picture: Boys acting like silly Boys. Cal was whipping his head back-n-forth and Miles trying to get him to stop. Second picture: So this is almost always the scene I see when I step out of the bathroom. It's been a routine for a long time. I think Svea started it! They call it "sneaking on Gary." Today Miles said, "We're sneaking on you Gary." :) Side note: So far I've managed not to step on anyone. :) Next picture: Miles, Nora, and Cal are under the parachute. Guess what game the...

Miles ate two servings of toasted raisin/cinnamon English muffin and ate his dried plums for breakfast. For lunch he ate no chicken, half of brown rice, bites of broccoli, and ate mandarin oranges. Yesterday afternoon I was "dancing" and acting goofy - yes I know that's hard to believe - primarily entertaining Nora and Atley. Nora said, "You're a good dancer." Hahaha. (Seriously, I'm a terrible dancer, but I do it with a smile!) That was very sweet to say Nora and Thank You. She has always been the first to tell someone "good job" and I've always loved that about her!! Miles was yapping at Cal; yes they are both yappers! Ha. Cal told Miles; "I don't what to talk with you right now!" Miles said, "How bout in a few minutes!?" Cal; "No." Miles; "How about tomorrow!?! First two pictures: Miles was playing with the Doctor toys. I saw him with the thermometer and asked him, "What's that for?" M...

Miles ate two servings of cheerios and ate banana serving for breakfast. For lunch he ate ground beef with a serving of avocado on top, ate whole wheat pita bread, olives, and watermelon. Svea and Miles were playing this morning and Svea randomly said, "Hey Gary, Miles and I are going to change our names." Oh really? What will your new name be? She said, "We have to decide." Ok, so I figured that was the end of the story. Nope, about 20 minutes later they both came to where I was at and Svea said, "We've decided our names. I am Rose. And Miles is Bricks." Haha. Ok, I'll try to remember. Later Miles - or Bricks - was terrorizing Svea, also known as Rose. I said, "Miles you are being a twerp." He said, "I know that!!" LOL. First picture; Everyone was done with breakfast except for Miles and he continued to eat. Svea and Avi were working on an Art project and Miles yelled, "Hey!! I'm still eating." Avi said, "Tha...

Miles ate oatmeal and apple pieces for breakfast. For lunch he ate half of his Hamburger Stew with meat, potatoes, carrots, green beans, and tomatoes. He ate whole wheat dinner roll and ate his fruit cocktail. I've mentioned this so many times, but I frequently wonder what the Parents are thinking when they're in the cars waving bye to the kids at the window. I'm on the other side listening to the crazy things the kids are saying! Atley and Miles were waving bye to Daddy Ryan and Miles said, "Goodbye Mr. Potato Head." I confess, I thought it was hilarious. Haha. You can thank Callahan for that remark. He's been saying that to everyone frequently!! :)  First picture: This is left over from yesterday afternoon when the kids were watching a roly poly bug. Second picture: Heading to "Cold Springs School Playground." Atley insisted on taking the wagon so she could pull it. After playing and getting all heated-up she wasn't nearly as enthusiastic on th...

Miles ate French toast and dried plums for breakfast. For lunch he ate pulled pork, whole wheat toast, peas, and strawberries.  I've seen this exact same scenario played out more times than I can count!! Trying to teach "social skills" to 1 - 5 year olds is challenging and frequently hilarious. I instructed Svea to say to Miles; "Don't hit me. I don't like that." Before Svea had a chance to speak Miles repeated what I said. Looking at Svea he said, "Don't hit me!!" I'm talking to her, not you Slick!! Haha. First picture: I think the delivery person had his ear buds in because Miles was beating vigorously on the window with no response from that guy! Haha. Second picture: Atley hid the eggs for Miles and he was thrilled to find a few of them. He's actually pretty good at the game. Next picture: This is a "coffee table" book put together and self-published by a friend of mine. It's full of beautiful pictures and descript...

Miles ate whole wheat toast and mangoes for breakfast. For lunch he ate ground beef, whole wheat spaghetti noodles, cauliflower, and fruit salad. First picture: Miles playing with a Duplos Truck. In Gary's World at Little Treasures this is actually a pretty significant thing he's doing. :) The cab on the truck snaps into place and then pivots down, similar to what big semis do to gain access to the motor. He's the first kid I've seen attempt it in this manner. I'm impressed because it's a very logical way to do it. All the other kids have simply tried to push the cab straight down and snap it into place. Good work Miles!! Next picture: Miles and Cal doing some drawing and coloring - primarily because Atley was doing some Art as well. Cal said he was drawing a "ginormous dinosaur." Side note for those who like Trivia. I Googled the word - Ginormous is basically slang, but it's been around for awhile. It came out of World War II from the British. :) ...

Miles ate blueberry bagel and three large servings of grapes for breakfast. For lunch he ate salmon, whole wheat brown rice covered with mixed berry juice, ate green beans, and two servings of mixed berries. This first picture is from yesterday afternoon with the kids at the "sand table." (Miles insists it's a "sand box" and I always forget! He doesn't forget!! Haha.) See Cal digging in his pocket? Well Atley had said she didn't have any pockets and needed one for her necklace and/or bracelet. So Cal was making sure he had one and then said, "You can use my pocket." (Which was very sweet.) Svea said, "Cal!! Your pocket does NOT come off!!" Haha. Speaking of yesterday afternoon Miles was looking for some help assembling his Duplos Truck. (And it is a little bit tricky getting the cab of the truck attached.) I said, "Go to Svea and say, 'Can you pleas help me?'" Miles rearranged the wording and said, "Svea, you ca...

Miles ate bran cereal and two servings of raisins for breakfast. For lunch he ate chicken topped with avocado, whole wheat pita bread, cucumbers, and ate most of his pears. Breakfast conversation: Atley to Cal and Miles; "Hey Guys! Did you know my Dad hit the brakes last night and Lexi (older dog) fell down and Holland (puppy dog) got her head stuck!?!" No I doubt if the boys heard the news Atley. :) First picture; Well Atley is here today and the boys are happy to have her join us for the summer. Whatever Atley did the boys wanted to do the same thing! Or at the least hang out close by. Atley is doing a gluing project and Miles asked if he could color. Second picture: Miles was asking to do Play dough - and Cal joined in as well - so  after breakfast that's what we did. Just an FYI, after meals and activities like this I have the kids check their seats and under the table to pick up whatever they've dropped in the process.  Next picture: I heard some commotion around...

Miles ate cream of wheat cereal and a couple bites of dried plums for breakfast. For lunch he ate bites of chicken, ate whole wheat toast, half of his broccoli, and ate pineapple. So here's a Tidbit Cal randomly offered us at Lunch Time: "If you tip over and keep your mouth open then you won't gargle." Svea asked, "What does  that  mean!?!?" Sorry Svea I can't help you because I have NO idea. Haha. Do you recognize anyone in the first picture?!? We have Family pictures posted in the hallway and Miles is convinced that's his Daddy. I'm not sure why we'd have a picture of Ryan kissing Missy - Lauralea's daughter hanging in our house. Haha. However, it's a side view and that could definitely be Ryan. Maybe it is Ryan; now I'm not sure!! :) Speaking of "Daddy" this morning Miles said, "Dad's in Idaho. At a Hotel ." I said, "Oh, your Dad's in a motel in Idaho?" Miles said, "No, hotel ." ...

Miles ate blueberry waffle and ate fruit salad for breakfast. For lunch he ate ground turkey, no whole wheat tortillas, ate sweet potatoes, and two servings of cherries. Random question: "Gary, where is your belly button?" I point in the general direction. Miles asks, "Can I see it?" Heavens NO!! I certainly don't want to frighten the child! Haha. Miles to Cal; "I'm going home with you!" Cal said, "Well then I'm not going home." Now that's funny, but not real nice!! Ha. First two pictures: Emily alerted us to the horses at the next house over. Apparently this (a horse ride to last day of school) was a gift that a Parent gave to their child that lives in the Wapikiya Neighborhood. When the boys and I got there the horse owners had just loaded the 2 horses, but the nice lady opened the little door in the front of the trailer and let the boys have a close-up look at the horses.  Next picture; The kids were pretending to go camping. A...
